"Interesting Door-Knockers" #17 - "Marley's Ghost" (1928)

While browsing through old-school cigarette cards, we come across this 1928 set of "Interesting Door-Knockers," which seems like a wacky theme, but hey!

This set also has a one-off card related to "A Christmas Carol," which would naturally be the knocker in which Scrooge saw Marley's face.

This seems to be a real knocker, whereas Scrooge's was fictional. Also, Scrooge's knocker was plain and did not look like a man's face, but it's not implausible that Charles Dickens had seen a knocker like this one and got the idea that a plain knocker could change.

Whatever the case, it's pretty neat and it's good to see the knocker get its due!

Incidentally, this is the first thing I've posted from the 1920s! Hmmm...
