While still in the 1960s, we jet back over to England for this cut from esteemed arranger/composer/saxophonist Johnny Dankworth.
This is part of a suite that paid homage to the works of Charles Dickens on the aptly named "What the Dickens!" LP from 1964.
As with just about any Dickens project, you know "A Christmas Carol" will be included, so here we have "Ghosts," which pays tribute to Scrooge's visitors.
What makes it fun is that Johnny takes the traditional song "Here We Come A-Caroling" (or probably "A-Wassailing" in this case) and arranges in in past, present and future arrangements.
This seems very Dankworthy to me, as I'm familiar with his 1956 hit single "Experiments with Mice," which presents "Three Blind Mice" as it would be arranged for various Jazz musicians/bands.
