When we last left the Simpsons, Homer was describing "Mr. McGrew's Christmas Carol" as if he and the rest of the family had never heard of "A Christmas Carol."
Naturally, Lisa is well-acquainted with the literary classic and Bart is familiar with various adaptations.
As evidence, he flips on the TV and we see Urkel getting the treatment in a "Family Matters" scene:
Bart changes the station and we get this (also fictional) scene from Star Trek:
Good fun and (I think) a reasonably affectionate jab at the ubiquitousness of "A Christmas Carol" in pop culture.
